About Me

Who am I? Australian, female, physiotherapist, writer, sailor, married to a Canadian engineer who loves to travel. I guess that's it, in a nutshell!

 2008

I’m a retired physio and now a freshly-retired sailor.

I am also a writer, and have a self-published market guide for Vanuatu as well as a number of published articles in magazines.  Hopefully my next life will include more publications.  For what’s on in my publishing life, please see “My Books”.

My husband Bob, who is an electrical engineer, features prominently in my life, guiding me into experiences I never thought I would enjoy, such as cruising in the South Pacific.  Associated with this are projects with fiberglass, painting, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, sanding, varnishing, and cleaning (very important)!

I look forward to hearing from you.

I haven't written in this blog for several years! I guess nobody has been holding their breath or I'd have heard about it by now. Over the past six years I've accomplished a few things, and started on a few more:
Land travel has taken the place of sailing, and Bob and I have spent a bit more time in Tasmania where our property lies. My parents in Brisbane are a little older and not as mobile these days. My Dad no longer drives so they are both dependent on us for transport, or community assisted transport service (CATS). Bob and I both volunteer as drivers also, for CATS. It has been very enjoyable actually, and we see ourselves continuing with this activity.
I've also begun another blog! For years I've wanted to do something like this, and finally took the plunge. My blog assistant and friend, Rachel Dool, has been ably guiding me through this, and it's grown to the point where I feel comfortable promoting it. Treat Yourself Now is slowly developing, and although it will never replace professional evaluation and treatment, I hope it will become a useful resource for those wanting tools to perform self-treatment at home for their ailments.
Please feel free to explore this site and to share it with others: www.treatyourselfnow.net

Calgary Sunshine

September 23, 2010
Yesterday for the first time we had a sunny day.  Yayyyyy!  It was great also to see David, Bob's number one son too.  He drove us to a Vietnamese restaurant for lunch and then to Fish Creek park for a long walk to Sikome Lake.  Then to a Tim Horton's before coming 'home' to Bruce and Heather's place.  It was brilliant.  Thank you, David!

Calgary

September 18, 2010

Bob and I have just arrived in Calgary.  Why did we come?  We're wondering the same thing!  Actually it's good to see Bruce and Heather and the kids again, and there are quite a few other folk around who we'd like to catch up with, too.  I guess it is worthwhile!  I think we'll be glad to warm up in the southern states, though, after Bob's mother's birthday in October.

First day

June 22, 2010
This is the first day of my new website.  I am so excited!
I never thought I'd be able to do this on my own, but yola has made it possible.  And it's FREE!
I would appreciate any helpful suggestions from anybody who logs in and views this site.
